29. I find tattoos to be really attractive 

You know, I really wish I’d discovered the power and usefulness of creative writing earlier on. It would have been a much healthier route to go down than the one that I did. Instead of channeling my depression into something productive, like writing, I instead put it toward self-harm. I cut myself and verbally abused myself for about a year and a half, two years, and in that time, I could have written a novel rather than dig myself into a deeper hole.

Now, I don’t know what I would do if I wasn’t able to write. Even if I was only allowed to write factual essays, I think I’d still be content. Writing has proved itself to be such an incredible outlet and I don’t think I’d be able to find the same solace in anything else. Music, I suppose, would do a little bit of something, being able to channel my emotions and thoughts into sounds, but to create a whole new world and to feel in control of things for once is something that, I feel, is irreplaceable.
